Charting Our Course

How We Started

In the summer of 2014, the leadership saw the need for a comprehensive strategic planning process for St. Alban’s. This strategic plan was to guide our mission and ministry, rethink our vision, and help provide the framework to guide us into the next five years of our life together.

This process resulted in a clarified Mission Statement and redefined Core Values in September 2014.

Task Forces

In addition, six task forces were commissioned to develop long term goals and intermediate objectives. These groups met many times over the fall to develop plans for the five areas identified in the parish visioning events as important to our future: Children and Youth (Laura Burton, Chair), Outreach and Mission (broken into two separate committees; Chairs: Erin Skelton and Jeff Tanner, respectively), Adult Christian Formation (Dennis Guill, Chair), Membership and Growth (Dean Riley, Chair), and Fellowship/Community (John Wood, Chair). Their hard work has produced exciting plans and goals for the future. Their initial reports can be found in our 2014 Annual Report.

The Work Ahead

Now that these plans are nearing completion, two additional groups are forming to create strategies for providing the resources necessary to carry out these plans. These groups are Facilities and Finance. Facilities will develop a master plan for our buildings and grounds, while Finance will tackle any capital campaign requirements, as well as develop plans for building the Endowment Fund. Further, each of the six task forces have re-constituted as standing committees to carry out those plans. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the church office with your preferred area of service.
